Location

The winery is situated in the village of Manzaneque, adjacent to 8 hectares of vineyards of the Tempranillo variety. The remaining vines are on the slopes of the Montes de Toledo, in the municipality of Yébenes, at an altitude of 850 metres above sea level.

Climate

Due to the altitude and the sheltering mountains, our vineyards differ from most in La Mancha; the vines benefit from a colder climate, resulting in slower maturation and greater concentration and quality.

Soil

A unique soil composition gives grapes whose wines differ from those produced in the surrounding area. The surface is covered with a thick layer of gravel which helps to maintain the temperature on cold, continental nights. Beneath the gravel lies a thin layer of clay, just enough for the earth to retain the nutrients and the humidity during drought periods and, further down, a limestone soil makes the plant strain a bit before fully producing. All of these factors, combined with slopes of up to 25% result in soils that are unique in the region of La Mancha.
